Welcome to Mooseium. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Mooseium.

What Mooseium is

Mooseium lets you search open-access artworks from third-party museums, save them into personal collections, arrange them into galleries, and optionally share those galleries publicly. Mooseium is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of the museums whose collections it draws from.

Your account

You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in secure. Provide accurate information, and don't impersonate others or choose a handle or display name designed to mislead.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create — your collection names, curator notes, guestbook messages, display name, and bio. By posting content that you make public, you grant Mooseium a limited license to store and display it so the service can function (for example, showing a public gallery to the people you share it with). You're responsible for the content you post, and you agree not to post anything unlawful, infringing, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or otherwise inappropriate.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no scraping or automated bulk access, no attempts to break, overload, or circumvent security or rate limits, no harassment or abuse of other people, and nothing illegal. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for others.

Artwork and museum data

Images and metadata are retrieved from third-party museum sources and remain subject to those museums' own terms and rights statements. Mooseium focuses on open-access material, but you are responsible for checking an item's rights before reusing it outside Mooseium.

Reporting

Public galleries and guestbook messages can be reported from within the app. We review reports and take action where appropriate, but we don't guarantee any particular outcome or response time.

Disclaimer and liability

Mooseium is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Mooseium and its creator aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
